Massive response to Army recruitment drive in Jammu and Kashmir

A whopping 6,500 youth from Jammu and Kashmir showed up in a recruitment drive held for the Territorial Army Battalion in Srinagar. The Army organized a four-day drive to shortlist candidates for 162 infantry battalion. Among the youth turned up for screening in the physical, the army has shortlisted 550 youths.

In the next round, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a written examination. Once the merit list is done, the selected candidates will be inducted into 162 Territorial Army. According to a report, many of these young men came from remote areas of Kashmir like Anantnag, Pulwama, and Shopian.
