The Edumission Project set for expansion

Edumission is an ongoing project of the Kozhikode district administration in association with the Education Department. Reports say that the project is being expanded to benefit more students and teachers.

As per the District Institute of Education and Training, the project is being implemented in 12 schools right now on a pilot basis. Apart from the training and skill development initiatives, many schools in the district will get labs with high-tech facilities. In the first phase, each of these labs would get equipment and infrastructure worth rupees 20 lakhs. Sambasiva Rao, the district collector will be organizing a review meeting on the project soon. IBM partners with Indian agencies to upskill and reskill India

Our youth are not able to meet the market demands. As per the India Skills Report (ISR), only 45.9% of graduates are employable in 2021, which is a lower number compared to 2020 and 2019. The report points out that “with the rise of cloud computing and data sciences, Internet services are reinventing contemporary work culture”. 

In this scenario where inadequate skilling is becoming a huge crisis in India, the tech giant IBM has partnered with various government agencies to upskill and reskill the youth and unemployed population in India. Read more.
