Skill Development in the Power Sector sees acceleration

A first of its kind Centre for skill training in the Power Sector has been established and virtually inaugurated in Gurugram recently by the Union Minister for Power among other senior officials. The Government of India, Government of France and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship along with other establishments had to join hands for the Centre to materialise.

The centre has been established to facilitate training to instructors working with electricity, automation and solar energy. By boosting these domains, the centre hopes to boost economic development and ultimately strengthen energy security, and overcome challenges due to climate change.

The centre also features two labs facilitated by Schneider Electric that come with industry grade equipment for real time training in the solar area. An expert from the Department of Education, France has been deployed to lay the groundwork for concept and operations at the centre. Read More.
