The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a national scheme implemented by the Director-General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The Central Government launched this scheme in 2016 to promote apprenticeship that includes on-the-job training/practical exposure and so on. The scheme aims to provide skill training to the students/candidates (ITI students/freshers / MES pass-outs / PMKVY candidates), in their respective fields, which will enhance their chances of getting employed.
