The Union Government has asked the companies to pay a full stipend to all apprentices engaged with them. The govt. will reimburse 25% of the stipend amount given to approximately 240,000 apprentices during this lockdown. These apprenticeship projects are conducted to make the Indian youth employment-ready after study.
The govt. has also advised the factories and services firms to hire up to 15% of these apprentices. This can boost the Skill India mission and make youth job-ready. Heeralal Samariya has requested all chief secretaries of states and union territories to work together protecting the interests of the working class.
