More than 69 lakh people across India have trained under PMKVY including around 9.3 SC and 2.7 lakh ST candidates during the period of 2016-20. About 33.9 lakh have enrolled in short-term courses and of which 14 lakh got placement. Around 32 lakh candidates have jointed different learning initiatives of the ministry, of which 22.5 lakh were certified.

Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Bihar are the top five states where maximum candidates have registered in different short-term courses. To implement the skill training programs, a total of Rs 5,034.44 crore has been disbursed under the NSDC, while for CSCM component, Rs 808.96 crore has been disbursed to state governments.
