Government’s initiatives to create a pool of trained IT professionals

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has approved the expansion of the ‘Future Skills’ initiative to train a huge number of professions, higher education students and government officials. Through the ‘Future Skills’ initiative, the government has an aim to train 4 lakh professionals in the next three years with a budget of Rs 436 crore. NASSCOM, a partner of the government for this initiative, said the expansion would be called Future Skills PRIME. The goal of the initiative is to create a pool of skilled professionals for the betterment of India in the digital world.

Previously, 2 lakh IT employees were trained to upskill themselves in areas like AI, cybersecurity, and blockchain.
