Vocational training for miners on anvil

There has been a proposal by the labour ministry to set up a vocational training board for the benefit of mine workers. It has further been proposed that the board would consist of a panel who are experienced and have practical exposure in mining. The rules determined will be binding on all the mine workers.

The proposal also suggests that the person elected as the Chairman of the Board must be one who has gained experience as an Inspector of mines. Further to this, the Board shall have representation from all fields including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Human Resources. Representation from coal, metal and oil mines has also been proposed.
