Vocational education for backward regions

During the winter session in the parliament, Ramesh Pokhriyal presented to the Rajya Sabha session, the different measures the Government has been taking to promote vocational education in the backward regions.

Some of the steps already taken by the government include: 

  1. Increasing the number of institutions offering B.VoC courses in the country. 
  2. Developing internship/apprenticeship-based degree courses in different sectors like media and entertainment, retail and logistics, etc. 
  3. Aligning the existing curriculum with the National Skill Framework
