Tawang annual skill mela trains 115 unemployed youth

The District Industries Centre in Tawang, along with the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the District Industries Centre held an annual skill mela and sensitization rally where the unemployed youth of the state receive training as skilled workers and get the opportunity to earn better incomes. A total of 115 participants attended the mela along with one vocational trainer. Lobsang Tsering, the DC in-charge, urged all the participants to make use of this platform so that they don’t miss out on opportunities, especially in private companies where there is more scope, due to lack of skill. The skill mela gives the participants the option to choose their preferred profession for which they will receive vocational training and placement as well. Read more.

IndiaSkills 2021 showcases 50+ skills from 26 States and UTs

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship or the MSDE and the National Skill Development Corporation or the NSDC has commenced that IndiaSkills 2021 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi where participants from 26 states and union territories will showcase their skills in more than 50 areas like car painting, welding, patisseries and confectionery, floristry, additive manufacturing, cyber security, to name a few. The competition saw all the Covid-19 protocols and other safety measures in place, having no visitors in the premises, frequent sanitization, and ensuring adequate social distancing. The competition for eight skills were already conducted from 3rd to 5th January in Mumbai and Bengaluru. The winners will receive felicitation on 10th January in New Delhi. Read more.

GNIDA to collaborate with Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd for skill development boost in Greater Noida

In order to promote a greater skillset among the youth, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority or the GNIDA has collaborated with Mumbai-based Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd to train the local youth after surveying the industry requirements of the region. Amandeep Duli, ACEO GNIDA, said that, “In the survey, they will assess the various kinds of industries in Greater Noida and the kind of workforce required. After the study, they will present a blueprint and tie-up with any other training organization that will provide training to the youth as per the need of the industries.” The CEO, Narendra Bhooshan also gave assurance that this cooperation will provide employment to the local youth.
