Skilling should prepare youth for the future

The Union cabinet minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the minister of state of skill development Rajeev Chandrasekhar came together to help India’s skilling. Together they took charge of the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship Shram Shakti Bhawan. The charge of the ministry of education will be handed over to Union cabinet minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday. The aim would be to equip youth with necessary skills to prepare them for future of work and creating linkages between skilling and employment. Dharmendra Pradhan would be assisted by Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Subhas Sekhar and Annapurna Devi. Read more.

Technical institutions should reinvent themselves

A meeting between Directors of centrally-funded technical institutions and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took place on Thursday. The meeting focused on emphasising that higher educational institutions need to prepare the youth for continuous disruptions and changes. This was to keep up with a possible fourth industrial revolution that is looming. Reinventing and re-evaluating institutions will help adapt higher education and technical education to the changing environment. Read more.
