Skill conclave empowers women to explore opportunities in male-dominated areas

Women and girls from various slums and communities participated in a one-day ‘Women Skill Conclave’ where they were able to explore training and employment opportunities in fields dominated by men such as web designing, mobile app development, marketing, and driving. They were also informed about the programmes and schemes that provide skill training free of cost. This Conclave was organised by Hamara Bachpan Trust (HBT) to mark the International Women’s Day and was inaugurated by Rashmi Sahoo, Ruchi Foodline and Frozit. The 700 participants that attended the event were also introduced to 10 vocational and skill training institutes – Tech Mahindra Smart Centre, Anudip Foundation, Centre for Youth and Social Development, Ruchika, Gram Tarang Employability Training Services, Frostees India Pvt Ltd, ICICI Foundation, Aryan Solutions, and Annapurna Finance. Vocational Skill Training Centre launched by Jharkhand CM for women youth to complete training and education

A vocational skill training centre was launched in virtual mode as a part of the Tejaswini Project for International Women’s Day by Hemant Soren, Jharkhand CM. The aim of this project is to improve the completion of training in skills that are market-driven and education of secondary-level for females in 17 districts from 14 to 24 years of age. “The government is ready to extend all possible support to them. Women of rural areas need special attention and we have to reach them,” said Soren. The Setu education curriculum was also released at this occasion alongwith Joba Manjhi, the Women, Child Development and Social Security minister, which helps out-of-school girls access education of classes 8 to 10. Read more.

NITI Aayog and Snap Inc collaborate for augmented reality skill development

According to a recently released official statement, NITI Aayog and Snap Inc have entered into a collaboration for training more than 12,000 teachers to pass on augmented reality skills to the youth. As a part of the Atal Innovation Mission, in the next two years Snap Inc. will train teachers affiliated to the Atal Tinkering Labs, equipped with 3D printing, electronics, and robotics. on Augmented Reality. The statement also revealed that Snap Inc has partnered with Atal Incubation Centers or AICs for supporting the startup ecosystem of the country. The special workshops will be held at 16 all-women and five co-ed institutes all over the country. Read more
