MoU signed to promote rural entrepreneurs in non-agricultural sectors

With the aim of supporting rural entrepreneurs to set up enterprises in non-agricultural sectors at the village level, the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development or the NIESBUD, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship or the MSDE, signed an MoU with the Ministry of Rural Development has initiated the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme or the SVEP. Through a sustainable model, this initiative will allow the rural community to set up trade along with all the support they would need to establish, like providing financial, advisory, and knowledge support through a village-community cadre. In order to start their enterprises, these rural entrepreneurs will also be given access to banking systems to avail financial support. They will also be provided with integrated ICT techniques and tools for capacity building and training. Read more.

3 month training for students and technicians launched at College of Horticulture & Forestry, Arunachal Pradesh

The College of Horticulture & Forestry in Arunachal Pradesh has inaugurated a ‘student training programme’ and a ‘technician training programme’, a three-month training programme as a part of the DBT-Skill Vigyan Programme. According to Dhanya Mungyak, the Director of Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, this programme will focus on promoting the students’ and technicians’ work skills in many industries and laboratories. This will also help in increasing employment in the fields of agriculture and food processing. The three-month long training will be provided in four categories, namely, entrepreneurship training, faculty training, technician training, and skill training for students. Read more.

Partnership between RNTBCI and Skill-Lync to upskill existing and prepare potential workforce

With the purpose of training and upskilling professionals for Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India or the RNTBCI, an automotive tech and business centre which supports Renault and Nissan worldwide, Skill-Lynch, an engineering edtech startup, has entered into a strategic partnership with the former wherein the students of the latter will be trained in various fields and will have an entry-level or an internship opportunity at RNTBCI. Upskilling programmes are also available on the Skill-Lync platform for the existing employees of RNTBCI which will be delivered through a blend of instructor-led and self-paced sessions. “We are glad to partner with Skill-Lync for upskilling technical knowledge of our employees in key areas like Vehicle development including electrification and Software, which will help us to deliver products and services to our global and local customers.
