The J N Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI), the top skills training facility of Tata Steel, will open a centre at Baliapal in the Balasore district of Odisha thanks to the efforts of Subarnarekha Port Private Limited (SPPL). Tata Steel is the main sponsor of JNTVTI, a public charity trust located in Jamshedpur. The Institute works to improve the abilities of local kids and gives them access to a range of employment options. The centre will have top-notch facilities when it debuts in September on the campus of Baliapal College of Physical Education (BCPE). A class of up to 35 students will begin the Institute’s 6-month supervisory cadre training on site safety. This venture, in the opinion of Subarnarekha, is a way to address the skills gap, develop new abilities, and foster creative thinking.

Mega Education Fair for Students

An NGO in Srinagar organised a Mega Education Fair to provide Kashmiri students with a chance to learn about the best programmes offered by renowned institutions. Many prestigious colleges set up their counselling centres at the exhibition. For the benefit of their students, a number of colleges, including Aryans Group of Colleges, Brainware University, Seacom Skills University, and Maharishi University of Information, have set up information centres. The centres also provided data on possible job placements for various courses. The college fair had a positive response. Several universities from various regions of India took part in the event. The students were appreciative of the NGO’s efforts in hosting an education fair.

TNSDC to introduce skill courses for students

Under the “Naan Mudhalvan” initiative, the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) will shortly provide skill-based courses to arts and engineering colleges throughout the state. TNSDC will provide courses for engineering institutions on topics including Blockchain, AI, IoT, Industry 4.0, machine learning, robotic simulation in manufacturing, and many more. In TNSDC’s opinion, offering these courses will provide equal opportunities to students from rural and urban areas, assisting businesses in their efforts to hire people from all across the state rather than just from one particular institution. Additionally, TNSDC is collaborating with the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM) to develop entrepreneurship-related educational materials for engineering as well as arts and science students.

“Pragya”: A stepping stone for health sciences skill progress

Aligning with the vision of skilling and reskilling proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Parul University has made a significant step by opening “Pragya,” an advanced skills and simulation centre, a one-of-a-kind skilling centre. In order to advance the center’s goal of instilling and boosting the most essential life-saving skills, procedural skills, diagnostic and critical decision-making skills to multitudes of undergraduate and postgraduate medical, paramedical, and nursing students at the university, this top-skilling facility was recently inaugurated by Dr. Manoj Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health, Govt. of Gujarat. Pragya is indeed a physical simulation model for pre-hospital training that incorporates all the necessary aspects of hospitals, including ICUs, cardiac and neonatal units, and task training areas. The university has also set up enough resources for this institute to start full-time postgraduate diploma and certificate programmes.
