IOCL Skilling Project Trains 400

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have certified nearly 400 candidates under a Skill India training program in sectors such as healthcare, apparel, telecom and domestic worker category.

This is among a host of projects undertaken by IOCL under its 11 refineries divisions, in imparting skills training to 4,450 candidates in the vicinity of IOCL’s refineries.  The NSDC certified training partners supporting IOCL are Orion Edutech, IL&FS Skills, IACM SmartLearn Ltd. and Olive Heritage Education and Welfare Society. Candidates have successfully landed jobs such as General Housekeeper, General Duty Assistant, BPO Executive, Unarmed Security Guard, Vision Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, and Sewing Machine Operator. The focus of IOCL is to skill youth from the below-poverty-line category which has seen participation as high as 71%. These projects also fall under IOCL’s CSR mandate.
