Dr Jitendra Singh dedicates DBT funded Skill Vigyan Program in Biotechnology in Arunachal Pradesh

Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, inaugurated a Biotechnology Centre for the tribals of Northeast in the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh at Kimin. With the aim of sustainable utilization and conserving of the local bio-resources with biotechnology tools, this new “Centre for Bio-resources and Sustainable Development” will help to upgrade the socio-economic status of the residing tribals in the State. The three-fold focus of this centre is to implement State-of-the-Art Orchidarium, establish banana fibre extraction and processing units, and establish Aroma Unit. Read more.

Agriculture & Agrochemicals to hire 13% more Interns and Apprentices

The apprentice outlook report for July-December 2021 shows that the agriculture and agrochemical industry, also reported to be the third most intern/apprentice friendly sector, is looking to hire 13% more interns or apprentices. When contacted for preparing this report, 55% employees were willing to immediately hire new interns. This industry comes third after the Engineering sector with 68% and the retail and automobiles and affiliates sector with 58%. “The agricultural sector has experienced a lot of transformation over the last few years. Apprenticeships have been largely informal, but now the sector is becoming formal and organized in such recruitments,” said Sumit Kumar, Vice President, NETAP TeamLease Skill University. NETAP or the National Employability Through Apprenticeship Program is the country’s biggest apprenticeship training programme where firms’ ambitions are taken into consideration in order to boost intern or apprentice employment. SEPC Conducts First Global Services Conclave for Resilience Improvement & Expansion Opportunities
