CareerLabs and SkillAssure partner up to place 10,000 Graduate Engineers 

EdTech Company CareerLabs and Pratian Learning & Consulting division SkillAssure have entered into a partnership with the aim of helping place more than 10,000 graduates and students from the field of engineering at high-paying jobs in Fortune 500 companies, fast-growing startups, and global IT juggernauts. In the course of the coming three months, over 1,200 positions will be filled at top companies like Valgenesis, Ernst and Young, Virtusa, 1Pharmacy, Zensar, Bristlecone, Tech Mahindra, Eurofins, ATMECS, InfoVision, Tata ELXSI, etc. Students and candidates who enrol in this programme will be provided technical training of 160 to 300 hours that is industry relevant. They will also be able to chose from more than 36 various job roles starting from High-Code to No-Code. Read more.

Companies keener on hiring more freshers, reveals report

TeamLease EdTech has released the third edition of their Career Outlook Report which revealed that employers have been keener on hiring freshers, shooting up to 47%, during January-June 2022 as compared to July-December 2021, while the global average is only 7%. This positivity in hiring activity is seen as a sign of an improving economy as well as the confidence of employers in new resources that could possibly strengthen their talent pipeline. The CEO of TeamLease EdTech, Shantanu Rooj, said, “”Despite the continued challenges of the pandemic, the inclination of companies to hire freshers continues to be on an upward trajectory. The overall jump in hiring sentiment is a reflection of this growth.” IT with 57%, telecommunications with 43%, and e-commerce & technology startups with 41% are among the top three sectors that have growing intentions of hiring freshers. India’s employability crisis and possible solutions to it

India is going through a very serious employability crisis despite having more than 50% of its population under the age of 25. Non-conventional jobs in the creative field, like Game Art and Design, Product Design and Management, Tourism, Hospitality, Content Management, Photography, Advertising, and Interior Design, could be the answer to this challenge. Another solution is to improve the higher education programmes of India and their curricula in a way that it includes diverse subjects to open untapped avenues. There is now a need for educators to cultivate intangible skills in learners like adaptability, design thinking, effective communication, emotional intelligence, and creative expression which can be achieved though experiential and practical learning methods such as apprenticeships, projects, and mentorship programmes. Indian Air Force is hiring 80 apprentices — Checkout eligibility, last date, stipend and other details

The Indian Airforce has begun inviting applications for 80 apprenticeship vacancies at Air Force Station, Ojha, February 19 will be the last date to apply. The course will commence on April 1 and candidates will be selected through Air Force apprentice training written test. Eligible candidates will have to have scored over 50% in class 12 exams and also must possess a certificate from the Industrial Institutes of Training (ITI) with a score of 65% average. The written and practical exam will be held on March 1 and March 3, the results will be declared on March 17.
