Atlas SkillTech to earmark ₹150 crore for expansion

The first multidisciplinary skills university of Maharashtra, Atlas SkillTech University, has announced plans to mobilise Rs150Cr towards their upcoming expansions. In addition to the new-age disciplines currently being offered by this private not-for-profit university, that is technology, design, and entrepreneurship, they will be introducing new-economy related courses to create a workforce for high value jobs not only in India, but abroad as well. The executive president and co-founder of Atlas SkillTech University, Siddharth Sahani, said, “We see a lot of other corporates wanting to come together and work with us. We will be mobilising ₹100 crore through grants. The other well-wishers as well who want to contribute can do so.”

Gujarat Govt signs MoU with BBZ Arnsberg to improve skill training

The Labour, Skill Development, and Employment Department of Gujarat has signed an MoU with BBZ Arnsberg, Germany in order to improve the quality of institutions offering technical and vocational education and training. To fulfill the aim of boosting performances of these instructions as well as creating job opportunities, both parties will implement joint workshops, knowledge sharing, exchange of faculty and students, and developing curriculum and examination patterns. “Our objective is to focus on dual vocational, education and training system, which is effectively working in Germany. This MoU will help in bringing training expertise and best practices with the collaboration of industries in Gujarat,” said Dr Anju Sharma, the Principal Secretary of the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department.

Entrepreneurship skill development programme for KAU students 

Under the Directorate of Extension of the Kerala Agricultural University or the KAU, the Central Training Institute collaborated with National Academy of Agricultural Research Management or the NAARM, Hyderabad to organise the ‘Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme for KAU students’ at the College of Agriculture in Vellanikkara. Apart from KAU and NAARM, experts from NABARD and DIC, Thrissur also hosted sessions and workshops. The event saw fifty students from College of Forestry, College of Cooperation Banking and Management, and  College of Agriculture in Vellanikkara attending where agribusiness entrepreneurs also shared their success stories. The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara,Dr. Manichellappan, said, “The Entrepreneurship Development Programme is basically designed to instill entrepreneurial motive and spirit among students, cultivate and nurture the skills and capabilities necessary for playing successfully the role as an entrepreneur,” while presiding over the inaugural session.

Experts urge students to improve interpersonal skills

Resource persons at The Hindu Education Plus Career Guidance Programme 2022 addressed the students of the present day, asking them to work on improving interpersonal skills as well as to love the educational streams and career of their choice. Psychologist and Principal of P A First Grade College, Mangaluru,  Surfraz J. Hashim, said that there are almost 50 streams in engineering itself that students can pursue after completion of Grade 12. He also encouraged students to read books of general nature so that they can improve knowledge in areas other than core subjects, while also bringing to attention the growing demand of AI and ML in engineering.
