An apprenticeship awareness programme was recently held at Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA). The awareness programme was a part of the initiative launched by Yashaswi and Union Ministry for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. During the event, Surajit Roy, Senior advisor for Apprenticeship Programme, National Skill Development Corporation, mentioned that Yashaswi and other similar third-party institutions will be setting up different initiatives to take forward the apprenticeship scheme successfully. He further added that the implementation of such schemes has been made mandatory for businesses across industries. The scheme which was earlier restricted only to the production sector has now been extended to other sectors as well.

During the programme, Suhas Kulkarni, DGM HR for TATA Motors mentioned how one can begin his/her career as a fitter while highlighting the benefits of the apprenticeship programme.
