Skill India’s mega ‘Apprenticeship Mela’ likely to provide 1L jobs

Skill India, along with the support of the National Skill Development Corporation or the NSDC and the Directorate General of Training or the DGT, organised an ‘Apprenticeship Mela’ on Monday in more than 400 locations across the country. With over 2,000 organisations from 30 sectors such as retail, IT/ITeS, retail, telecom, electronics, automotive, to name a few, participating in the event, the ‘Apprenticeship Mela’ hopes to give employment to almost 1lac apprentices as well as help employers to tap in to the right talent. Those who aspire to gain apprenticeship in these sectors will also have the opportunity to network and choose from over 500 trades that includes housekeeping, beautician, electrician, welder, mechanic, etc. Read more.

Soft Skill Programmes help students to be ready for school

As Karnataka gears itself to open up schools and other educational institutions, parents are worried about the poor social skills of their children, all thanks to the pandemic. The children have been fatigues during the pandemic, and returning to the normal social setting, interacting with peers and teachers, may seem to pose a challenge in the learning environment. In order to develop soft skills and improve language skills, schools are also offering pre-reopening programs to ensure that the parents concerns are addressed as well as to equip young students to be prepared for school.

KITS Warangal bags National Employability Award

The Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science Warangal or the KITSW received the National Employability Award 2022 from the representatives of SHL India at a programme held at the committee hall of the KITS campus on Friday. The principal of KITSW, Prof Ashoka Reddy, claimed that for the academic year 2020-21, 865 students from KITSW were able to secure employment in various MNCs through the campus placement program, the average package being Rs 4.33 LPA and the highest being Rs 15.12 LPA. The current academic year shows 365 final year students from the BTech program to have secured employment in MNCs through the campus placement programme in branches like Civil, EEE, ECE, Mechanical, CSE, and IT.
